My Favourite Movie

I finally found a low-priced copy of my favourite all-time movie. It was only $6 at Future Shop yesterday. Last copy on the shelf.
The movie?
The Fugitive, with Harrison Form and Tommy Lee Jones. I have almost worn out my VHS version, so it was time to upgrade to the DVD.

Immigrant Controversy !!!

It’s election time in Switzerland. When you think of Switzerland, what comes to mind? Mine thinks a people that are very much pacifists. Well, shock ensues.
The SVP (Swiss People’s Party) has again run a controversial campaign calling for the extradition of foreigners who commit serious crimes. It has been criticized by opponents and has roiled [...]

How are your Powers of Observation?

The recent scam I pulled with the photo from the Hulk 2 movie is a good example of human psychology in action. It also illustrates that your powers of observation are important. The relaxed officer; the crowd barrier but no firemen; etc.

I Cried Myself to Sleep

Well, not exactly cried.
I took the above photo of a horrific accident late yesterday evening. A city bus blown apart, and, slightly visible on the right, a vehicle on its side and a small car partially crushed. This happened near the corner of John and Main, a main intersection in downtown Hamilton. I have emailed [...]

Some examples?
- leap-frog became leapfrog
- ice-cream became ice cream
16,000! I would have never guessed that there were that many.

2 More Senseless Deaths

2 more innocent people have died in what is suspected of being an accident caused by street racing. It happened on a regional highway that I have personally driven on hundreds of times, as I used to live in that area. Although I do not know the people involved, I am sure I have friends [...]

iPod Part 4

Things are going well with my iPod. Every morning on the 407 bus I listen to 10 chapters from the Bible (5 from Psalms, 1 from Proverbs, 2 from other Old Testament books, and 2 from New Testament books) and then I listen to one or more interviews or other teaching style podcasts.
My favourite podcast [...]

The Human Mind

Since the time that my eldest child was born, maybe even before that, I have kept kitchen clocks about 5 minutes fast. It was my attempt to speed my family up, so we could get out the door on time.
Now I am living alone and I still do that.
I can look at a clock and [...]
