Computer Security While On The Road

It is rare for Grandpa Richard to promote a product, but in today’s world full of hackers and spammers, I believe you need to know about these.

Hopefully your home computer is well protected with anti-spam methods, and other security products. You also keep your software (like Firefox and Windows especially) up to date.

What about when you are on the road? If I go away for a weekend, I can go cold-turkey on emails and favourites forums, but I do NOT like to.

RoboForm: Learn more... Personally, I use RoboForm on my home computer.

RoboForm was named PC Magazine Editor’s Choice, and CNET Download dot com’s Software of the Year.

RoboForm allows you to:

  • Manage your passwords and Log In automatically.
  • Fill long registration and checkout forms with one click.
  • Encrypt your passwords to achieve complete security.
  • Generate random passwords to maximize password strength.
  • Back up and Synchronize Passwords between computers.
  • Fight Phishing and Defeat Keyloggers.

When away and wanting to use someone else’s computer, I use RoboForm2GO via one of my flash drives. Amazingly Easy to Use …

  • Plug your USB flash drive with RoboForm2Go into any PC and log into any website, or fill any form, all with one click!
  • Remove your RoboForm2Go USB flash drive and no information will be left on the host PC.
Another product that I am impressed by is IRONKEY, which bills itself as the world’s most secure flash drive.

Both physically hardened and using advanced encryption, IronKey safeguards your files, keeps your online life private, and protects you from people who want to steal everything from your identity to your cash.
