The Arctic trails have their secret tales

The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.
This item in the Globe and Mail mentions Lake Laberge, as a well known steamer from the gold rush era has just been found in its watery grave there.
Six years after the A.J. Goddard went down in 1901, Lake Laberge (note spelling error in poem) was made famous after poet Robert Service mentioned it in his poem, The Cremation of Sam McGee.
