Pizza and Vampires

New TV ad. LOL!!!

Father is talking to daughter about her vampire boyfriend. She says he is not a vampire, he is just Goth. Father then presents some fresh pizza. Not from a pizza place, but Delissio. Daughter says, wow, definitely garlic bread, hey dad. Yup.

Door bell rings and daughter offers boyfriend some pizza. Boyfriend says, “Garlic!”, and his body goes to dust and a bat flies away.

  10. Xendria says:

Well, I for one, personally find it offensive.

DiGiorno in America has a better garlic bread pizza commercial, where a Nosferatu-type vampyre shies away from biting his bride because she’s eating the pizza. It was funnier.

But this is just the same ‘ole shameless stupidity that allows the media to stereotype gothic people into being black-lipsticked wearing, Hot Topic grossness wearing, vampyre wannabes.

Now, please don’t go telling me to get a sense of humour about it. If the media portrayed gothic people in a much nicer way, and it was funny, then I’d laugh. I don’t care if they have gothic people in commercials. It’s just a pet-peeve of mine when they’re always portrayed in such a lame way. They either go the, “I’m gothic, I worship Satan or I’m villainous and talk in a monotone voice!” way, or they go the vampyre way.

I just saw it as the father calling him a vampyre, and it made it seem like the daughter was defending the gothic laddie, only for him -to- really be one. And you know damn well the father was just saying it -because- of his dress-style, at first. And that’s what I find annoying. And it was just further annoying, that they -did- make him a vampyre, further pressing in that negative stereotyping.

  11. keith says:

ill ask jarek when i see him
thats the only way to be sure

  12. A says:

I heard about this commercial from a friend of mine, and ironically, that night we saw Jarek and Ryan (Tall guy Short Guy) play a show at a local place.
Still have not seen the commercial, so if anyone finds it, post it!

    Please and thanks!

  13. Chef Paul says:

I thought it was hilarious. But then, I would never buy frozen pizza or garlic fingers. I’d make my own. I use a lot of garlic in my cooking, so no vampire would want to visit, let alone cross my threshold. The best crusts are always freshly made; even if you pre-form and then freeze the dough for later use, it’s still fresh from the point of view of coming out of the oven.

But I loved the commercial. I think it would have been even better if they had first released it at Halloween.

  14. Ltcseko says:

Hey, does anyone know the title and artist of the song at the end of the commercial?? When the boyfriend starts by “what u say?!” thanks

  15. vampirelover007 says:

can someone plz send me a link 2 the commercial?!?!? i wanna see it

  16. StriderGirl says:

The song that plays at the end of the commercial is “Hit the Road, Jack”, but I don’t know who’s singing this version of it. It starts about halfway through the song, that’s why it’s harder to recognize.

  17. Paulina says:

does anyone have a link to this commercial??

  18. bob says:
