An Ontario man agreed to pay $5,000 and costs to another person whom he defamed in an email. The email was sent to only 1 person, but that person forwarded it to 2 others, including the victim. The original lawsuit asked for $50,000 in damages. Lesson learned?

A B.C. woman received the bill for her divorce. She was not happy about it and took her lawyer to court.
