The Human Mind

Since the time that my eldest child was born, maybe even before that, I have kept kitchen clocks about 5 minutes fast. It was my attempt to speed my family up, so we could get out the door on time.

Now I am living alone and I still do that.

I can look at a clock and know that it is 5 minutes fast, but it stills gets me out the door sooner. How is it that I can fool myself, when I know what I am doing?
