Telemarketers and Junk Mail

Here are a couple of ideas for dealing with telemarketers and junk mail. Enjoy.

It’s quite easy actually. The next time a telemarketer calls, repeat this phrase:

“Hold on, please.”

Then, carefully put the phone down on the desk or table nearby and walk away. Go back to your supper, as odds have it that you were enjoying supper when they called in the first place. When you eventually hear the phone company’s beep-beep-beep tone, you know it’s time to go back and hang up your handset, which has efficiently completed its task.

Don’t those 3 little words sound precious?

Junk Mail

When you get ads with your phone or utility bill, include them with the payment you send back. Let the companies throw them away.

Do you ever get those pre-approved applications for new credit cards, etc? Do they include pre-paid return envelopes? Send them in, along with some of the other junk mail. How about the coupon for the pizza shop? Some low paid mail clerk might need the deal.

If you have no available junk mail, just send the envelope back with a blank application. If 1,000s of us did that, they might have to reconsider their methods.

Eventually, the banks and credit card companies will begin getting their junk back in the mail. Let’s let them know what it’s like to get junk mail, and the best of it is that they’re paying for it. Twice.
