I have read the articles that explain why they get paid so much, but I still shake my head everytime a story surfaces.

Alan Mulally, new CEO over at FORD, is paid a measly $666,667 per year. However, he received a hiring bonus of $7.5 million, and $19.6 million in stocks and stock options, and … (I don’t want to continue; I consider it a bit sickening)

His total for 2006 at FORD – $39.1 million.

And what really galls me is that if these CEOs do not do well, and their employer decides to let them go, they get ridiculous send-off “bonuses”.
