I live in southern Ontario, in Canada. We have LOTS of trees.

canadian treeMaple, birch, popular, and so on and so on.
Then we have the evergreens as well.
Pine, spruce, etc.

My son makes up a shopping list for me one day. He says I need some spices to make my cooking more tasteful. Ya, he is right. My cooking is healthy, but bland. So I look at the list he has suggested. Ginger, cilantro, thyme, nutmeg, etc.

Then I notice the word “leaves”. You want me to buy some leaves? Yep. Bay leaves.

Seems weird to me, but now I have a bottle full of leaves. Thing is, they don’t look much different than all the leaves I could just pull off the neighbour’s trees.

MMMMMM…ginger, cilantro, smoked paprika, cumin!!! Love me some spices 🙂

Suggestion, next time you have some leftover chicken from a roast mix it with some chopped cilantro, some celery and red pepper, some black beans and some sour cream. Add black pepper, salt and a little cumin. Spread on a tortilla or lettuce leaf. Roll and enjoy!
